Artificial intelligence firm Anthropic is negotiating a potential $10 billion cloud computing agreement with Alphabet Inc.'s Google, according to people familiar with the matter. The deal WOULD provide Anthropic with expanded access to computing resources as competition intensifies in the AI sector.

This marks Google's latest strategic MOVE in the AI space, following previous investments totaling $3 billion in Anthropic. The tech giant committed $2 billion in 2023 and added another $1 billion earlier this year.

Discussions remain at a preliminary stage, with terms subject to change. Neither company responded to requests for comment regarding the ongoing negotiations.
